About Us
Brightlingsea Lido is a volunteer-run outdoor swimming pool. The main pool is 50m long, 25m wide and 1.9m deep at its longest ponts.
There is also a paddling pool which is 12m wide.
Although the pool is by the sea it is chlorine filtered and not salt water fed.
Brightlingea Lido has stood at this site since 1932, when it was first converted from a creek to a wooden pool. In the mid 1970s it was converted to the concrete pool you can see today.
In 2018 The Brightlingsea Lido trust took over management from Tendring District Council and has run it as a charity ever since.
